We’re nearly there people…the end is nigh…January is nearly over!

As it’s officially one month since Christmas Day (where did the time go?) I thought I’d share Nia and Lees awesome Christmassy 2014 Wedding.

Nia and Lee were married on December 23rd 2014 at the Saddleworth Hotel in Manchester. This place was absolutely amazing it encompassed a kind of “rustic country chic” vibe and it was a pleasure to shoot there. It was really quite off the beaten track and surrounded by moorland and woodland as far as the eye could see…however, sadly, we didn’t get a chance to go outside and play. I have never been in a situation before when the rain goes upwards! The weather really was intense, freezing cold, gales and upwards travelling rain is not a good mix for anyone. Now I’m always up for a challenge and trying different things…however subjecting my clients to hypothermia isn’t one of them. So We kept all the shooting indoors and utilized the amazing space that this venue has to offer

Having your photo taken, by someone you don’t necessarily know, can be daunting and feel rather invasive. Some of my couples do struggle with this feeling, Nia and Lee were no exception.. We quashed those nerves weeks before the wedding with an engagement shoot which immediately put them at ease. During the big day the shooting style that we adopt is designed purely to keep the bride and groom comfortable at all times. If you keep your subject comfortable and relaxed then it will resonate in the photos. We encompass a reportage “fly on the wall style” right from the bridal prep to the Macarena dance, and from what I’ve read in reviews and comments from clients, we are barely noticed. And that to me is one of the key skills of being a wedding photographer: mixing in with the action but staying invisible.

The love that radiated from Nia and Lee was captivating. You only have to see “the look” that Lee gives his beautiful bride to understand what I mean. I’ve never seen a groom clasp his brides hand so tight during a ceremony before. He never let her go.

Nia and Lee. Truly made for each other x
